Waltham Forest Council is continuing its partnership with Idox’s Open Objects to deliver a new local offer for care leavers – adding a further channel to its Waltham Forest Directory website for families.

The new website will signpost care leavers – young people who have been looked after by the local authority for at least 13 weeks since the age of 14 – to information about the services and support available to them as they move towards adulthood and independent living.

Integrating with the council’s main website and maintaining consistent branding, the Care Leavers’ Local Offer will further develop the directory with information and guidance in relation to: health and wellbeing; relationships; education and training; employment; accommodation and participation in society.

Recently published survey results by Socitm’s Better Connected programme have highlighted 19 Family Information Services (FIS) websites as ‘outstanding’, with ten of these platforms developed by Open Objects, including Waltham Forest.
